THE CEREMONY

What is a Mother Blessing ceremony?

A Mother Blessing is a ritual gathering held in the final weeks of pregnancy, where the women in your life come together to honour, support and celebrate you as you prepare to become a mother. It's a rite of passage — a moment to consciously mark the transition from maiden to motherhood, rather than let it pass by unnoticed.

How is a Mother Blessing different from a baby shower?

A baby shower centers on gifts for the baby. A Mother Blessing centers on the mother herself, her strength, her fears, and her transition into motherhood. Instead of presents, you receive a women's circle, ritual, affirmations and a nurturing massage: a moment to be pampered and truly seen before your world quite rightly starts revolving around your little one.

How long does a Mother Blessing ceremony last?

The ceremony itself takes about 3 hours. If you add a shared lunch or brunch, plan for roughly 4-5 hours total, depending on the venue and group size.

How far along in pregnancy should it be planned?

How far along in pregnancy should it be planned?

Most ceremonies take place between 32 and 37 weeks, late enough that birth feels close, early enough that the mom-to-be is still comfortable travelling and sitting for a few hours.

Practical details

What should I bring?

A Mother Blessing is a ritual gathering held in the final weeks of pregnancy, where the women in your life come together to honour, support and celebrate you as you prepare to become a mother. It's a rite of passage — a moment to consciously mark the transition from maiden to motherhood, rather than let it pass by unnoticed.

What should I wear?

Come as you are, in whatever makes you feel comfortable and relaxed, we sit on cushions and mats for parts of the ceremony, so soft, easy clothing works best. There's no dress code beyond that.

Is it okay to take photos?

Yes, capturing memories, like the birth altar or the affirmation flags, is very welcome. During the more intimate ritual moments (the women's circle and the closing red-thread ritual) we ask everyone to stay present and put phones aside, so the mom-to-be feels fully held rather than watched.

What about food and dietary requirements?

We offer vegetarian and plant-based catering packages (sandwiches, seasonal soup, homemade cake, smoothies and fresh juice), and we're happy to accommodate allergies or dietary wishes just let us know in advance. You're also free to arrange your own catering or host the lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Where are the ceremonies held?

Our regular locations are Yogazentrum Nada and The White Door Studio, both in Amsterdam-West. We also offer venue scouting for other locations, and ceremonies can be held at your own home.

How many people can attend?

We recommend a minimum of 5 women, up to a maximum of 15 participants, so the circle stays intimate and everyone gets a real moment of connection with the mom-to-be.

booking & pricing

How much does it cost?

Pricing runs on a sliding scale from €50 to €60 per person depending on group size, plus venue rental where applicable. The mom-to-be always joins for free. Reach out for a tailored quote based on your group and location.

How do I book a Mother Blessing?

Send us your preferred dates, group size and location wishes through the booking form. We'll check availability, send a tailored offer, and set up a short call to align on the details — from there, we take care of the rest.
